2 Black Models Found Dead In Their LA Apartments 2 Days Apart

Thirty-one-year-old model Maleesa Mooney was found dead on Tuesday (September 12) in her luxury apartment in Bunker Hill. Police conducted a welfare check after Mooney stopped answering her family’s calls and texts. “When a week went by, we just knew something was off,” Bailey Babb, Mooney’s cousin, said. “Her messages weren’t delivering and we knew something was up because we all have a special relationship with Maleesa.” Though the cause of death remains unclear, police confirmed that they are investigating Mooney’s case as a homicide. Authorities announced the death of 32-year-old model Nichole “Nikki” Coats just days later. Coats was also found dead in her apartment after she stopped communicating with her family members.
