Childhood cancer encompasses various malignancies affecting individuals from birth to 14 years, while adolescent cancers target those aged 15 to 19. Although relatively uncommon compared to adult cancer, it remains a leading cause of disease-related fatalities in young individuals across the U.S. Projections indicate that approximately 9,550 children will receive a cancer diagnosis in 2025. Fortunately, advances in research and treatment have substantially boosted survival rates, with around 85% of affected children living five years or longer, a significant increase from 58% in the mid-1970s.
