The Sacramento Black Film Festival is set to make a vibrant comeback at the end of the month, displaying an intriguing selection of short films.Known as Cine Soul, the event will take place from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 31, at the California Railroad Museum, located at 125 I St. in Old Sacramento. Since its inception in 2005, this festival has stood as a significant platform for African American cinema.Highlighting this summer’s presentation is “Mildred 4 A Million,” featuring the iconic Marla Gibbs. Directed by Kim “Kimmie P” Callaway, the film narrates a great-grandmother’s ambitious journey to amass a million TikTok followers to connect with her technologically engrossed great-granddaughter.
