In the wake of devastating storms on April 29, which left numerous neighborhoods, including Douglas Plaza Apartments in Wilkinsburg, without power, community members made a significant impact. On May 4, Ronette Dixon and Ashley Burke provided hot meals to residents in dire need. Amber Sloan, a local activist, emphasized the neglect faced by vulnerable seniors. As power was finally restored on May 5, Mayor Dontae Comans, alongside community supporters, ensured that residents received essential care and nourishment, highlighting unity in adversity.
