Jounen Kwéyòl 2025 Receives High Praise From Culture Ministry Officials

As the Minister overseeing Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, and Culture, he noted that feedback concerning the island's hosting of Jounen Kwéyòl activities on October 26 has been favorable. While the primary celebrations took place in Belle Vue, Vieux Fort, and Babonneau, Saint Lucians eagerly participated in a weekend filled with events, starting from schools and workplaces on October 24, culminating in activities throughout the island. Celebrating both Jounen Kwéyòl and Creole Heritage Month, the festivities highlight the island's rich culture, food, music, dance, and the Kwéyòl language.Hilaire emphasized the need for a decentralized format in future celebrations to allow more communities to authentically showcase their Kwéyòl heritage. This year’s events, which also included major activities in Monchy and Anse Gere, attracted impressive crowds and transformed the entire weekend into a vibrant celebration of Saint Lucian culture.
