Fayetteville State University, a historically Black educational institution in North Carolina, has partnered with Edgecombe Community College to establish a $10,000 Pathway Plan between the institutions. Founded in 1967, Edgecombe Community College is one of the 58 colleges that make up the North Carolina Community College System. The college operates campuses in Tarboro and Rocky Mount. It enrolls about 2,000 students and African Americans make up more than half of the student body.
