Leon Cherry, a fourth individual from Saint Lucia, has officially been recognized as a 2025 Chevening Scholar after a previous communications oversight that excluded him from the British High Commission's official announcement. Each year, Chevening provides fully funded opportunities for global professionals to undertake postgraduate studies in the UK. Earlier this month, the British High Commission in Saint Lucia held a reception honoring three of the announced recipients: Ronaldo Degazon, Kina Nicholas, and Jevanic Henry.
Unbeknownst to the local team, Cherry had also been selected, receiving confirmation from the UK-based Chevening Secretariat in June. He plans to pursue a Master's in Applied Clinical Psychology at the University of Bath, a long-felt ambition. As an established psychologist and mental health advocate with seven years in the field, Cherry raises the count of Saint Lucian Chevening Scholars this year to four, a remarkable achievement acknowledged by Resident British Commissioner Amy Quantrill.
