The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) has shared an update regarding allegations of sexual misconduct involving a senior officer. Police Commissioner Verne Garde announced that there appears to be “no likelihood of legal actions” in three of the four cases. During a press conference on Thursday, Garde indicated that the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has examined three of the submitted case files for legal evaluation. “I did communicate that I forwarded all four respective files to the Office of the DPP,” Garde stated. He further elaborated that after discussions with the DPP, it was clarified that there is no potential for legal proceedings in any of these matters. Back in April, Garde had previously informed the press that two of the case files had been reviewed and concluded by an investigator, emphasizing the importance of the DPP's subsequent recommendations. Presently, all four files have been submitted, leaving only one under review.
