Gros Islet Residents Granted Bail On Charges Of Possessing Illegal Rifle, Ammunition

On Thursday, September 14, 2023, a team of Police Officers executed a search warrant on the premises of twenty-six [26] Marlick Tisson of St. John Street, Gros-Islet. The residence was occupied by two persons, Marlick Tisson and a female who has been identified as twenty-seven [27] Akisna George. The search led to the discovery of a .22 calibre Mossberg rifle and twenty-nine (29) .22 rounds of ammunition. Neither of the occupants produced a valid license for the firearm or ammunition; as a result, the firearm and ammunition were seized by the Police Officers. Consequently, Marlick Tisson and Akisna George were arrested for Possession of a Firearm and Possession of Ammunition without a valid license. The pair were subsequently charged for these offenses. On Friday, September 15, 2023, they were presented before a Magistrate’s Court for the purpose of bail, which was set in the following amounts: For the charge of Possession of Firearm, Marlick Tisson and Akisna George were bailed in the sum of thirty thousand dollars (XCD30000.00) cash, suitable surety, or land documents each. For the charge of Possession of Ammunition, Marlick Tisson was bailed in the sum of fifteen thousand dollars (XCD15000.00) cash, suitable surety, or land documents....
