In a passage from her forthcoming memoir, “107 Days,” Harris characterizes Biden's decision-making process as “reckless.” She reflects, “Looking back, I regard it as a form of recklessness,” a sentiment conveyed in an excerpt acquired by The Atlantic. “It’s Joe and Jill’s decision,” became a repeated phrase, which Harris felt reflected an almost hypnotic belief. “The stakes were far too high,” she insists, arguing that this decision shouldn't hinge on personal ambition or ego. In her memoir, she also reveals friction within the Biden camp, suggesting that aides failed to appreciate how her rising popularity could benefit Biden amid concerns over his age and health. “His team didn’t understand,” Harris asserts.
