Massachusetts City Workers at Risk of Firing After Inappropriate Racist Remarks During High School Graduation Stream

Relatives and friends of the Lynnfield High School Class of 2025 experienced a disturbing moment during the Massachusetts town's graduation livestream last Friday. Unidentified municipal workers, preparing chairs on the football field, were inadvertently recorded making “inappropriate and racist” comments, as confirmed by local officials. Reports indicate that these individuals uttered at least two racial slurs, including the N-word. One worker was overheard saying, “Yeah, I heard you’re a racist (expletive) too,” with another responding affirmatively. The first continued with, “It’s the Black man keeping us down,” while the other echoed sentiments of hate. Lynnfield's Town Administrator Robert Dolan condemned the incident, asserting that such language has no place in their community and emphasizing immediate action. The incident prompted swift reporting to the superintendent and police chief, leading to administrative leave for the offenders pending an internal investigation. School Committee member Jamie Hayman expressed “deep disappointment,” urging the community to seize this moment to address hate and foster education on the matter. The livestream has since been removed.
