Jason Geary has officially taken on the position of provost and executive vice chancellor for academic affairs at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Since 2020, Dr. Geary has held the deanship of the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers. Throughout this tenure, he has initiated numerous interdisciplinary programs alongside various university departments, including projects aimed at highlighting the role of the arts in health and wellness. Additionally, he founded the Office for Advising and Student Success and cultivated collaborations with nearby K-12 educational institutions. Before joining Rutgers, Dr. Geary was the director of the School of Music at the University of Maryland. Previously, he spent over ten years teaching at the University of Michigan, where he ascended to associate dean for graduate studies in the School of Music, Theatre, & Dance. Beyond his administrative roles, Dr. Geary is recognized as a distinguished professor, affirming his impactful presence in academia.
