Another year has passed and once again the day has arrived when its time to take stock in what we are doing for our planet. Yes, today, April 21, 2021, is Earth Day. Events, mostly virtual due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, are going on throughout the nation and locally. There are myriad ways to celebrate Earth Day, whether it be participating in a trash clean-up, visiting the many natural wonders throughout Will County, or planting trees and flowers. President Joe Biden’s global climate summit, EARTHDAY.ORG will host its second Earth Day Live digital event at noon. Workshops, panel discussions, and special performances will focus on Restore Our Earth and cover natural processes, emerging green technologies and “innovative thinking that can restore the world’s ecosystems,” according to the website.
