LaToya Webb, a graduate teaching assistant in the department of music in the College of Liberal Arts at Auburn University in Alabama, has been selected to attend the U.S. Army Band Conductors Workshop this summer. Her selection makes her the first African American woman to be chosen for this prestigious event. Throughout the four-day workshop, Webb will partake in intensive conducting/rehearsing opportunities with the U.S. Army Band.
