LL Cool J has earned accolades, co-hosted, and showcased his talent on the MTV Video Music Awards stage. Now, the Grammy-winning multi-hyphenate is stepping into the role of solo host for the 2025 ceremony. Returning to the spotlight, he will not share hosting duties as he did in 2022 alongside Nicki Minaj and Jack Harlow, as confirmed by the VMAs on Thursday. LL Cool J is also nominated for the best hip-hop award for his track "Murdergram Deux," featuring Eminem, appearing on his latest album, "THE FORCE," which debuted in September, marking his first release in over a decade. A longstanding advocate for the VMAs, he won his inaugural Moon Person in 1991 and was the first rapper to earn the Video Vanguard Award in 1997. The upcoming MTV VMAs will air live from UBS Arena in New York on September 7 at 8 p.m. Eastern. Lady Gaga leads the nominations with a staggering 12, while fans can vote until September 5 at 6 p.m. Eastern.
