Saint Lucia police are investigating a shooting incident in Gros Islet on Monday that left one man in his twenties dead. According to reports, he sustained a single gunshot wound along Dauphin Street. Saint Lucia Fire Service spokeswoman Stacy Joseph told St. Lucia Times that a Gros Islet fire station rescue unit responded after learning of the incident at about 3:04 pm. Joseph explained that the station ambulance was on an emergency mission in Babonneau. She said when the responders arrived on the scene, they found that the victim had no vital signs. An ambulance from fire service headquarters also rushed to the scene. However, Joseph said a doctor the police had summoned pronounced the victim dead.
