Rapper Turned Athlete: Toosii Commits To Play Football At Syracuse

Rapper Toosii is pursuing his long-held dream by stepping away from his illustrious multi-platinum music career to focus on football, having officially committed to Syracuse University. The 25-year-old artist broke the news via social media, with a source corroborating his commitment to The Associated Press. However, specifics regarding scholarship opportunities or walk-on status remain vague. “COMMITTED. For every kid who ever had a dream, make it reality,” Toosii declared, noting the interest from Coach Fran Brown of Syracuse. Known as Nau’Jour Grainger in Syracuse before relocating to Raleigh, North Carolina, Toosii previously played as a receiver during his high school years. His passion for football reignited this summer after a visit to Maryland. He recently shared pictures in a No. 2 Orange jersey from his visit, which included attending Syracuse's loss to Boston College. Toosii initially set aside his football aspirations in 2017 to focus on music, achieving notable success with tracks like “Favorite Song” and collaborations with artists such as Wiz Khalifa and DaBaby.
