(Photos: Facebook\Twitter) A press conference to denounce the white supremacist terrorist attack in Buffalo, New York and call for state and federal action to stop racist domestic terrorism will be held today, Thursday, May 19, 2022, 4:30pm, starting at the Lincoln Statue, 12 Springfield Ave in Newark, NJ.The press conference is being called by the People’s Organization For Progress (POP). The Lincoln Statue is located at the intersection of Springfield Avenue and West Market Street.Participants in the press conference will include grassroots leaders, activists and representatives of civil rights organizations. Lawrence Hamm, Chairman, People’s Organization For Progress will be among those speaking at the press conference.“We are calling this press conference to condemn the most recent racist, heinous, and murderous attack in Buffalo. All over this country Black people are being targeted, hunted, and killed by white racist domestic terrorists.” Hamm stated.The New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness has stated for several years that white supremacist extremists are a leading threat to public safety in the state.
