New Platform ‘UgaTunes’ Launched for Ugandan Artistes to Monetize their Music

By Reporter A new platform has been launched so that Ugandan musicians can easily distribute their music to global channels as they make money off of it. Dubbed UgaTunes (Ugandan Tunes), the channel aims at helping artistes both already established and upcoming have their music reach international platforms to enable them earn some money from their work. The platform comes as a ray of hope to Uganda’s entertainment industry which has been hit hard by the Covid19 pandemic that has seen the country go through a year-long shut down. Unlike the past times when musicians earned from concerts and performances in several happening places, it hasn’t been the case since March 17th when President Museveni announced a ban on public gatherings. Musicians and music promoters have suffered the most which in turn has affected the quality and quantity of music being produced from the Pearl of Africa that has over time been recognized for that.
