New York City Council's Black Female Leaders Face Violent Threats: 'Our Lives Are Under Siege'

New York, NY — New York City Council Members Crystal Hudson and Althea Stevens announced they have faced violence threats against their lives. “This Tuesday, our offices were inundated with emails from one individual menacing us for our commitment to progressive values supporting marginalized communities. As Black women, we know fighting for justice is perilous. We unequivocally reject all forms of violence and remain devoted to advocating for equity and compassion within our communities.”
