Nigerian President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to arrive in Saint Lucia from June 28 to July 4, as revealed by Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre during a pre-Cabinet press briefing on Monday. The trip will encompass a blend of official duties and leisure pursuits. Prime Minister Pierre noted, “Two days, June 30 and July 1, are allocated for formal activities, while the remainder will be designated for the president's personal retreat.” He emphasized that the Nigerian leader's visit serves as a significant and historic chance to strengthen ties between Africa and the Caribbean. Pierre remarked, “As individuals of a collective lineage, our population maintains profound connections to the African continent, notably Nigeria. These enduring cultural and historical affiliations urge us to cultivate and enhance our collaborations with Africa in substantive, strategic, and enduring manners.” Additionally, invitations have been extended to all OECS heads of government to convene in Saint Lucia during the official segment of Tinubu’s visit.
