Beck, who resigned from the Lancaster police force in April 2021 amid multiple allegations of racial discrimination, was controversially given a $60,000 payout for his resignation. He has since been employed by the North Charleston Police Department, which also has a troubling history of racial profiling.Coffey's five-year struggle for justice included two years battling baseless criminal charges that were ultimately dismissed. Her attorney, Tyler Bailey, remarked that this outcome signals intolerance for racial profiling, though the systemic issue remains, as Beck's law enforcement certification was never revoked.
