The recent inauguration of the Wells Fargo Learning Lab marks a significant advancement for the Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs (RICE), bolstered by a generous $1.5 million grant. This cutting-edge facility aims to enhance Atlanta’s rapidly growing entrepreneurial ecosystem, offering vital resources to nurture small businesses. The event gathered esteemed figures, including U.S. Rep. Nikema Williams, Fulton County Commission Chairman Robb Pitt, and various community leaders.Rep. Williams highlighted the importance of small businesses in shaping communities, emphasizing, “When Black businesses thrive, all businesses prosper.” Jay Bailey, RICE President and CEO, acknowledged Wells Fargo’s early support, stating that the partnership transcends mere philanthropy, symbolizing a strategic investment in Atlanta's future.As of now, RICE supports 64 local businesses—referred to as stakeholders—reinforcing its position as a global leader in uplifting Black and minority entrepreneurship. Additionally, last year, Wells Fargo allocated $20 million in small business grants within the metro Atlanta area. RICE continues to evolve through a multimillion-dollar renovation project, aiming to solidify its legacy further.
