In a significant transformation for regional boxing, the 2025 Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States Invitational Boxing Championships will relocate to The Pavilion in Rodney Bay. Scheduled for August 1-3, this event marks a historic first for Saint Lucia’s primary tourism hotspot, made possible through collaboration between the Saint Lucia Boxing Association and the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority. The venue change aims to create a controlled environment while revitalizing the tournament by leveraging the island's sports tourism potential.Over 100 athletes from across the Caribbean and North America are anticipated to participate. The Pavilion, renowned for hosting premium cultural and entertainment events, will now frame one of the region's notable boxing contests. “We're enhancing boxing’s appeal with the help of the Tourism Authority,” stated David “Shakes” Christopher, president of the Saint Lucia Boxing Association. The championship, previously held at Vigie Sports Complex, suffered from weather-related difficulties. The relocation promises engagement for both tourists and locals. Admission is priced at $20 for adults and $12 for children under 12.
