After Spencer Rattler’s Slump, Saints Put Faith In Tyler Shough

The New Orleans Saints are turning to rookie quarterback Tyler Shough this week as they prepare to face the Los Angeles Rams. Coach Kellen Moore opted for change after Spencer Rattler's struggles continued in last week’s disappointing 23–3 defeat to Tampa Bay. Rattler threw two critical interceptions and was unable to advance the offense beyond midfield during the second half, prompting the coaching staff to reassess their strategy.Shough, selected 40th overall in the latest draft, had limited opportunities last week after Rattler was benched. He completed 17 of 30 passes for 128 yards with one interception, a performance that, while not spectacular, was sufficient for another chance. At 26, the Saints are hopeful Shough’s composure and rapid release can rejuvenate an offense that’s been failing to score effectively.
