Dr. Robert Scott, a Suffolk native and Norfolk State University alumnus, has been appointed president of Albany State University in Albany, Georgia, effective May 1. Currently, he serves as president of research and development at Kraft Heinz Co. Scott obtained his Ph.D. in cell and molecular biology from the Georgia Institute of Technology and previously held senior roles at Abbott Nutrition and The Coca-Cola Co. At Norfolk State, he was a distinguished Dozoretz National Institute for Mathematics and Applied Sciences scholar before becoming a biology professor.
