The Atlanta Voice has once again claimed honors at the annual National Newspaper Publishers Association (NNPA) Messenger Awards, bringing home several prestigious distinctions for its journalism. The publication secured third-place accolades in the Entertainment category, recognized with the Armstrong Ellington award; in Fashion, via the Ada S. Franklin award; and in Sports, earning the Don King award.Additionally, The Atlanta Voice received a third-place recognition for overall newspaper excellence, achieving the John H. Sengstacke award. The Philadelphia Tribune and the Baltimore Afro-American took the top two spots.This year’s Messenger Awards took place from June 25 to 28, hosted by The Savannah Tribune at the JW Marriott Savannah Plant District Hotel.
