Brave Black 7-Eleven Employee Faces Racial Harassment Alone From White Man Until a Courageous Bystander Intervenes

Shylan Sanders was on duty at a 7-Eleven when she encountered a disturbing, familiar figure—a white elderly man who had previously harassed her and allegedly threatened her life. Appearing unsettled, he confronted her over a carton of cigarettes. Despite being banned from the store, he demanded to be served. In her now-famous TikTok post, Sanders explained that she had to spend much of the incident on the phone with the police, which limited her ability to film the confrontation.“I informed the police about the threats on my life and provided a detailed description, yet they took nearly an hour to respond,” she stated. Upon their arrival, they allowed the man to leave without consequence. Shockingly, her assistant manager later dismissed her concerns and hinted at repercussions for Sanders. With her hours reduced and safety neglected, Sanders expressed her frustration at the situation, emphasizing that “the police don’t protect me.” Thankfully, a Black male customer intervened during the chaos.
