A towering seven-foot bronze monument honoring the legendary Tina Turner is slated for installation in Heritage Park, located in Brownsville, Tennessee. This initiative underscores the city’s commitment to celebrating the legacy of one of its most illustrious residents. Born Anna Mae Bullock in Nutbush, Turner rose from humble beginnings to global fame, with her iconic 1973 anthem, "Nutbush City Limits," highlighting her rural heritage. Recognized as the "Queen of Rock 'n' Roll," her legendary tracks, including “Proud Mary” and “What’s Love Got to Do with It,” solidified her status as a music stalwart, paving the way for her two-time Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction and numerous Grammy accolades. The sculpture will be crafted by Nigerian artist Fred “Ajano” Ajanogha, with a planned unveiling during the Tina Turner Heritage Days in September. Generous funding from Ford Motor Company and support from the City of Brownsville ensure the project honors the cultural significance of Turner’s legacy for future generations.
