Challenging Moments for Alphonse at the Junior Cycling Tour

Denver Alphonse of Saint Lucia secured the 30th position in this week’s Junior Cycling Tour of Martinique. The 17-year-old student from Entrepot Secondary School faced over 70 competitors from 18 French teams, finishing 19th in the individual time trial and 32nd in the road race. Maxence Detré of Racing Team Hexagone triumphed overall. In the final road stage, Alphonse placed 32nd, trailing the victor by 9 minutes and 42 seconds. He concluded the 381.3-kilometre tour 43 minutes and 25 seconds behind Detré, who clocked a total time of 10:20:40.
