UWP Leader Granted $25K Bail After Protest Arrest

DOMINICA – Leader of the United Workers Party (UWP) Dr Thomson Fontaine has been granted bail in the sum of $25 000 in his own recognisance, after being arrested and charged with unlawful assembly following protest action which took place on Victoria Street in Roseau on March 19.
He appeared before a Roseau Magistrate. The matter was adjourned to July 30, 2025.
Police sources told Dominica News Online that a total of 25 persons have been arrested thus far, in relation to the protest.
