In addition to support from their loved ones, patient navigators play a crucial role. These professionals, often nurses or social workers, guide patients through the complexities of healthcare.Black Americans encounter disproportionate cancer mortality rates and are frequently absent from clinical trials, largely due to systemic hurdles and a legacy of medical mistreatment.
