The WSSU Rams women’s track & field team turned heads with a second-place finish at the Southside Power & Fitness Invitational, racking up 106 points behind only host Lenoir-Rhyne. Dominating in both relays, the Rams took first in the 4x100m (47.02) and the 4x400m (3:45.13), anchoring their team total. Charnessa Reid’s blazing time in the 100m hurdles (13.54) was a meet highlight. In field events, Trinity Brooks landed third in triple jump, and Kyndall Barrow took sixth. Solid mid-distance efforts by Rainn Sheppard and Simone Kelly strengthened the Rams' competitive edge, while Maeghan Wallace and Alaina Moody delivered consistent results in throws. With over a dozen athletes scoring in multiple disciplines, WSSU’s well-rounded roster proved formidable. This performance underscores a program on the rise, driven by speed, strength, and strategy. WSSU will aim to build on this momentum at the 2025 Aggie Invitational hosted by North Carolina A&T.
