Following a triumphant weekend, the Yellow Jackets avenged their earlier defeat against the reigning ABA National Champions, the Chicago Fury. Last spring, Ace Pippens’ squad suffered a 100-86 loss in a Region Semifinal. Determined to turn the tide, they eagerly anticipated this rematch. The Fury, boasting a 6-1 record, came to the A Giving Heart Community Center in Allentown, Pittsburgh, for an intense showdown. Both teams exchanged leads throughout the game. At the first quarter's end, Dylon Cormier inspired the Yellow Jackets to a 34-30 advantage. After halftime adjustments, they solidified their position, ultimately winning 125-117 with Cormier leading all players with 36 points, supported by Kenny Holmes' 25. In the next match against the Central Pennsylvania Kings, the Yellow Jackets surged, achieving a stunning 195-133 victory. Cormier again topped scoring charts with 49 points while Holmes celebrated his birthday with 44 points. Now 5-0, the Yellow Jackets climbed to #9 in the ABA rankings.
