A white man in Northwest Houston faces assault charges after he spat on and physically attacked a Black female driver over a purported fender bender. The incident has ignited outrage, with videos of the altercation spreading rapidly across social media platforms. Candice Matthews, representing the victim, confirmed via Facebook on October 24 that they intend to pursue hate crime charges.Ronald Preston Gorham was filmed during this violent encounter at a gas station located at Perry and Mills Road. In the footage, he can be heard hurling abuses at the woman while claiming she committed a “hit and run,” a charge she stoutly denied.After concluding a call with authorities, Gorham escalated the situation, directing racial slurs and slapping the woman as she attempted to defend herself. When law enforcement arrived, they arrested Gorham for assault, leading Matthews to assure followers that justice would prevail as support for the victim flowed in online.
