Historically Black Delaware State University has signed a memorandum of understanding with the University of Belize in Central America to partner together on various collaborative research and academic initiatives. Through their new partnership, the two universities plan to develop workshops, training activities, presentations, research, and mentorship programs that benefit students and faculty at both schools. Officials from the University of Belize will work with faculty and deans of Delaware State University’s colleges to explore what academic possibilities can be pursued as part of the agreement. The University of Belize was established in 2000 from a merger of five institutions: the University College of Belize, the Belize Technical College, the Belize Teachers’ Training College, the Belize School of Nursing, and the Belize College of Agriculture.
