Men’s basketball players for historically Black Norfolk State University were allegedly confronted by fans yelling racial slurs at a game at Illinois State University. Officials ejected the offending fans from the arena. Both head coaches got in a shouting match and both were issued technical fouls. After the game, Norfolk State head coach Robert Jones posted on social media: “I’m not letting anybody call my players a racial slur. Those are my kids and I will fight for them. We have come too far in society to be called the N-word at a college basketball game.” The post Racial Slurs Allegedly Shouted at Illinois State University Basketball Game appeared first on The Journal of Blacks in Higher Education.
