Two Black Scholars Selected for Deanships

Royce D. Burnett has been named dean of the School of Business and Management at historically Black Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland. He most recently served as a professor and chair of the School of Accountancy in the Strome College of Business at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. Earlier in his career, he held various administrative and faculty positions with Southern Illinois University Carbondale, the University of Miami, and Oklahoma State University. Outside of his career in higher education, he has over 17 years of experience in public accounting and business. Dr. Burnett is a graduate of Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, where he received his bachelor of business administration and MBA degrees. He holds a Ph.D. in business administration and accounting from Oklahoma State University. Pamela Moye has been named interim dean of the College of Pharmacy at Mercer University in Georgia. She has been with the university since 2007, currently serving as chair of the department of pharmacy practice and chair of the College of Pharmacy’s diversity, equity, and inclusion committee.
