On September 30, 2025, around 100,000 personnel did indeed resign, but these exits originated from a prior voluntary initiative established months before by Trump’s administration, rather than spontaneous dissatisfaction. In January 2025, a memorandum initiated the Deferred Resignation Program (DRP) for federal workers, offering employees paid administrative leave leading up to their formal resignation. Consequently, the significant quantity of resignations was premeditated, yet media outlets frequently neglected this crucial aspect, opting instead to portray a narrative of disorder.
