By: Felicia Jordan , Chloe Franklin DEERFIELD TWP., Ohio — A 17-year-old is dead after a crash that shut down all southbound lanes on I-71 for hours Thursday morning, Ohio State Highway Patrol said. The crash happened at approximately 1:40 a.m. near Deerfield Township and involved two vehicles, including a semi-truck, OSHP said. Troopers said the driver of the semi truck was heading south on I-71 when he was hit head-on by a 17-year-old driving a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee on the wrong side of the highway.& After hitting head-on, both vehicles went off the southeast side of the road and the semi overturned, OSHP said. The driver of the semi truck was taken to Mercy Health — Kings Mills Hospital with what troopers called “non-life-threatening” injuries. The teen died at the scene, OSHP said. The Ohio State Highway Patrol has not yet identified the teen who died. Reposted with permission from WCPO 9 Cincinnati.
