21-year old Georgia State Student Joshua Anthony is running to rep Albany in the Gold Dome

Joshua Anthony says the people of east Albany, Georgia have been neglected. The community has forced themselves into a situation where they have to be comfortable with struggle and that’s indeed unintentional. He says there will always be tough times. However, leadership is supposed to be bringing the best for them and that we have not seen that. Therefore, at 21 years of age, Anthony, a student at Georgia State University, is running for Georgia House District 153.  District 153 encompasses parts of Albany, including the Audubon, Lakeside and Oakdale areas. “We’ve had a few leaders who have done their best in regards to bringing great things to Albany,” says Anthony. “When we look at the grand scheme of things, most people in our city have been struggling for years. We have people around other cities around our district and around Albany that have been developing at unprecedented levels. I mean, it was industrializing, like no one’s business, but yet Albany still found some new and inventive ways not to do it in a way that makes sense.
