A$AP Rocky, Slick Rick, Nicki Minaj and other artists will be honored at the American Museum of Natural History’s upcoming exhibit. Earlier this week, the AMNH announced plans to launch “Ice Cold: An Exhibition of Hip-Hop Jewelry.” According to a press release, the exhibit will document the history of jewelry in Hip-Hop beginning from the 1980s to present day. Rare jewelry including The Notorious B.I.G.’s iconic gold Jesus piece, JAY-Z’s diamond-studded Roc-A-Fella medallion, Nicki Minaj’s Barbie pendant, Slick Rick’s oversized chains and more pieces from artists like A$AP Rocky, A$AP Ferg, Erykah Badu, Joey Bada$$ and Tyler, the Creator. “’Ice Cold’ will truly spark a sense of excitement and curiosity into our world of jewelry and baubles as an extended form of hip-hop culture which has inspired the global stage as an extension of our art,” said the exhibit’s senior advisor Ricky “Slick Rick” Waters. “This collaboration with the American Museum of Natural History is a harmonious blend of creativity and cultural significance.
