An elderly resident in Florida is facing serious weapon-related charges after allegedly firing at two salesmen who had come to his door. William M. Williams, 72, has been charged with aggravated assault and discharging a firearm in public following the incident on May 19. According to the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office, the two men were canvassing neighborhoods on Boabadilla Lane to promote solar panel packages. When they knocked at Williams’ door, a woman expressed her displeasure and instructed them to leave. As they retreated, they were startled by multiple gunshots, turning to find Williams aiming a firearm at them. In a panic, the salesmen sought refuge at a neighbor's house. Fortunately, they escaped unharmed. Authorities later discovered several firearms and ammunition in Williams' home. He was subsequently detained and released on a $30,000 bond.
