Saint Lucia’s golden girl, Julien Alfred, will feature prominently at the inaugural Caribbean Association of National Olympic Committees (CANOC) Sports Awards on October 19 in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands.
Alfred is the only individual or team to have earned multiple nominations.
The CANOC Sports Awards will honour the Caribbean’s finest athletes, teams, and sports leaders.
The prestigious event will celebrate the region’s sporting excellence, focusing on sustainability through the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Sustainability Awards.
Among the star-studded nominees for Caribbean Sports Personality of the Year are some of the region’s brightest talents who have shone on the global stage.
World Indoors 60m champion, Paris 2024 100m champion, and Wanda Diamond League 100m champion Julien Alfred of Saint Lucia headlines the five nominees, all from the sport of athletics.
The top-ranked female athlete from the Caribbean at the moment, the 23-year-old is the only nominee with three titles in 2024.

Jasmine Camacho-Quinn (Puerto Rico).
Shafiqua Maloney (Saint Vincent & the Grenadines).
