The Patterson family attended the Community Day event at the August Wilson African American Cultural Center on Saturday, July 12. Photographed by J.L. Martello, attendees included Brandyn Huntley and Kalia Patterson. Markeeta Condon was seen engaging children with face painting, while Prevan Roberson had a delicate flower design painted on her arm. The event, part of the 2025 activities on July 12, also featured Neicy Razier from the Society of Women Engineers, who presented an engaging challenge involving a boat design to test its weight capacity using pennies until it submerged. Each participant joyfully received a balloon as a delightful keepsake. Keah Adams, the Manager of Education and Community Engagement at AWAACC, facilitated many of these enriching experiences, demonstrating the center's commitment to creative and educational community engagement. The event provided a vibrant spectrum of activities, fostering connection and creativity among attendees of all ages.
