Banksy has revealed that he was behind a north London mural graffitied onto a tower block overnight.
The artwork in Finsbury Park shows a splattering of green paint behind a bare tree to resemble foliage, with a stencil of a person holding what appears to be a pressure hose next to it.
A 2008 Mail on Sunday investigation revealed Bristolian Robin Gunningham as the guerilla graffiti artist, a finding which has since been backed up by a scientific geographic profiling study.
However, the new mural, and Banksy‘s many other iconic street art pieces, bear little resemblance to some of Gunningham’s first ever projects.
Despite his undeniable talent, the precocious craftsman only managed to get third prize for the drawings at a school competition.
