Kansas is facing a concerning dilemma just three games into the season. Due to a hamstring injury, Jayhawks guard Darryn Peterson will be sidelined for at least the matchup against Princeton this Saturday, as confirmed by coach Bill Self through the Associated Press’s Dave Skretta. Self remarked, “For whatever reason, the hamstring remains sore, and we are trying to assess the situation.” He further added, “As long as it continues to be this painful and restricts him in any way, there is no justification for rushing him back.” Fortunately, the Jayhawks do not anticipate that Peterson’s injury will have a long-term effect, according to Self. Peterson, regarded as one of last year’s most promising prospects, made his debut against Green Bay on November 3, scoring 21 points. Prior to his absence in the win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, he registered 22 points in a loss last Friday.
