Birmingham Promise is set to host a college and career fair specifically for students from Birmingham City Schools on October 14, running from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Birmingham CrossPlex. This event caters exclusively to juniors, seniors, and their parents, providing a unique platform for students to engage directly with colleges, evaluate various postsecondary options, and connect with employers who present direct workforce opportunities. Schools will attend in staggered groups throughout the day. Courtney Sankey, senior director of student programs at Birmingham Promise, will be present to furnish attendees with essential information. “This is a fantastic chance for our youth to explore their available resources,” commented Samantha Williams, executive director of Birmingham Promise. “Moreover, it allows over 60 participating employers and colleges to witness the caliber of students emerging from Birmingham City Schools. We are excited to forge these vital connections for our students and partners.” For further details on Birmingham Promise, please visit http://www.birminghampromise.org/ or follow their social media channels.
