As vice president and senior business consultant at JPMorgan Chase, Joy Butts works closely with small business owners to help them finance and grow their businesses. She joins the latest episode of Financial Freestyle with Ross Mac to discuss the small businesses she works with and their outlook on the future.
Butts says Black-owned and small businesses are “faring very well in the market, and they’re very optimistic,” citing JPMorgan’s annual Business Leaders Outlook survey.
She also stresses the importance of the survey itself and how it helps her do her job, saying, “If you don’t understand what the community you’re serving needs, then you can’t really put things in place to really help service that community.”
Finally, Butts notes that businesses owned by Black women are “one of the fastest growing segments within entrepreneurship.”
