Indiana Black Expo announced former senior associate athletic director and chief diversity officer for Columbia University athletics, Cara Holdsclaw, as chief operating officer. An Indiana native, Holdsclaw joins IBE following her time at Columbia University, where she was responsible for the strategic coordination of revenue generation of the athletic department. Additionally, she oversaw all diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, as well as name, image and likeness for all staff and student athletes. “Cara brings a multitude of skills needed for the organization to grow and continue to flourish,” Alice Watson, IBE President & CEO, said in a press release. “I am excited to have Cara work alongside me to carry out IBE’s strategic plan and to implement impactful programming for our communities across the state.” As chief operating officer at IBE, Holdsclaw will oversee the planning and development of programming and administration.
